Give life to faded friendship

Friendship is the sweetest relationship in the world. I wonder how the equations sometimes change about friendship as we grow up.

True to say that mostly friends during school time are true gems to be kept forever..

In school we all must be having that one special friend or a group of friends which we adore. We play together, play small pranks together, part of all praise and punishments together. In school days the significant thing is playing with friends and our group for playing, sharing things. Life is bliss at this phase. We have our school farewell and everyone assure to other friends that they will remain in contact no matter whatever happens.

Now it’s time to enter the college life.

College lives also let us meet new friends. Amidst all the class rivalry, ego and competition to excel at top to get good placements (which are definitely not a part of school life) we find some true friends here too. Meanwhile school friends too are in contact though not at the regular pace they used to be. Soon college days too came to an end and there we are facing the world which is yet too unexplored by us.

We become independent and are ready to explore the job life or entrepreneurship

We climb upon the way and soon we find ourselves working in some big MNC’s, corporate offices or establishing our own business. Now the friendship may change over time.

It may be due to growing older, relocation for a job, a fight, marriage or kids. It is an inevitable fact that life takes people in new directions, growing apart from old friends became a part of our lives.

We are busy with the daily working routines, family and within few years if we get married we get busy in our new lives and then our kids. The frequent meetings soon turned out to be one of the rarest. It’s not like we have changed or our dear friends are no more important to us, its just with changing life, time constraints and other social reasons (I do accept that time is just an excuse given by us, if we really mean anything we would anyhow meet them but so many times we think to call any friend, then leave it for next days, days becomes months and then years.. true in many cases.) no one has enough time for meet up.

But in this tech savvy world we can be in contact with them through messages and calls unlike older times. Rather than fear the loss of the old bonding with friends, make an effort to balance the life both on personal and professional front. Perhaps we can’t catch up often with old buddies but make sure whenever you meet, talk like nothing has changed.

It doesn’t matter how many days or years go by, a best friend is someone who after numerous years you can still talk to like it was yesterday.

Often people realize how much they have neglected to restock their pool of friends only when they encounter a big life event and they have no friend circle for care and support. Friends are the keeper of our darkest secrets; they make the good times better and the harder times easier. In the walk of life friends are the family we choose. Treasure your real friends and do not let any time constraints built between you. Keep in touch and share things.

Savor your friendships and stay blessed. 🙂

While thinking today

Thoughts are often inspired by the surroundings

They are often the manifestation on how we look at life

Simply the best place for thinking can vary with individual

But for me it can be during a walk in the park or to workplace

While travelling alone or while sipping coffee in the morning

But unpredictably I find being amidst the crowd in the market,

Dinner at the restaurant or parties equally the best place to think

Because amidst these people I observe them sharing their stories

And sometimes these conversations stir my thought process

At times these people are also experiencing the same as me

And suggest or blend my thoughts with their own experience

I note those thoughts in my mind to remember them always

Occasionally I type these thoughts on my cellphone or laptop

Before it became the lost memory I save it for my reference..

In response to Daily Prompt: Simply The Best

How heavy is your glass of water?

‘A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face she inquired, “How heavy is this glass of water?” The answers called out ranged from 8oz to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, its not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

She continued, “The stress and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them for a big longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.” Always remember to put the glass down.’ – I found it on Tumblr, here.

happy sad

Some people find it their necessity to be surrounded by all the gloomy and depressing worries the best they can. They may have some reasons to rejoice, to be happy and at peace but astonishingly they choose the other option to look at the dry side of the story. People always think they would be happier in a different set of circumstances. (Usually these other circumstances really are not any better.)

They tend to be carrying the worries of life as if there worry can do any good for that situation. Yes, these worries are doing one thing: taking toil at your peaceful and healthy life and making you weak and miserable.

The uncertainties of life actually give us a chance to be stronger and be optimistic. How long you want to hold the glass full of water actually depends on you, though it does no good for you. Better look at the brighter side of life. Don’t be disheartened with the problems but try to resolve them, and if its nothing you can do about some circumstances better leave them. Life is beautiful.. live it blissfully with peace.

One billion dollars and me.. !!

Daily Prompt: You’ve just won $1 billion dollars in the local lottery. You do not have to pay tax on your winnings. How will you spend the money?

Not in one of my wildest dream I would have ever anticipated myself winning a lottery worth $ 1 billion (100 crore dollars). If this happens in reality I would be on cloud nine. For me it would be such a large amount of money which, honestly speaking I would have to think how to spend. Spending a Billion dollar will surely be a tricky thing for me.

Many a times we think if we would have little more money we would have done that specific thing or brought something but sincerely even at times if someone give me 1 lac it would be difficult to spend and I have to think for means what to buy and what to do with even 1 lac rupees (If me not buying a penthouse, a sports car  as these things I am already having though at smaller scale. A home I live is big enough for my family and the car is just perfect for roadtrips.. 🙂 ).

If I imagine what I will do with one billion dollars, I would like to fulfill some of my self interests with 1/20th part of the lottery (It would be more than enough for my interests). I will buy for me and my family a penthouse apartment, lavish car and all bountiful luxuries. I would start my own little business and will promote it (preferably related to food items.. yummy.. ) so that I could grow it further and will work hard for it. Even when I buy all the lavish lifestyle for me, my family and my dear ones I will be left with much amount to spend even after fulfilling all of my fantasies.

I will be using the remaining part of money for fulfilling some of my wishes:

  • Helping people fighting cancer around the world as it is the deadliest disease leading to mortality. Cancer treatment is too costly and the amount the patient has to suffer psychologically and financially is beyond limits. Maybe I would be able to provide little financial support to them.
  • I will be helping old age homes and orphanages. These people require love and support and helping them with money would just be a step towards helping them.
  • I will also help the NGO’s working for good cause and requiring monetary support.
  • I will try to establish good educational institutions which provide the best education for all groups of people. I myself would like to be a part of the educational initiative by teaching them apart from providing financial support.

I know money is not the sole requirement but it is a very important necessity in life. I accept money can’t buy everything but money would provide me an opportunity to make small changes to the society and the country and also the world at a larger perspective. I would try to make a better place to live and will bring smiles on the face of as many people as I can.

Moment of Clarity: In Examination Time

Daily Prompt: Tell us about a time you’d been trying to solve a knotty problem — maybe it was an interpersonal problem, a life problem, a big old problem — and you had a moment of clarity when the solution appeared to you, as though you were struck by lightening.

I was studying in college few years back. I was never good in remembering the theories; however I had clear knowledge about concepts and facts. I was not a master of calculations and mathematical operations but many of my friends always used to say that I am good at it (perhaps I was an average.. 🙂 )

Once we were having a lecture of engineering concepts and we had a surprise test. It was a class evaluation comprising few questions. I solved all the questions but one question was a tricky one. I tried for half an hour to solve that question but was not able to solve it. Then suddenly when 5 minutes were left for submission I had a clear thought in my mind how to solve it, that moment I felt like a flash of light struck my mind. When the paper was over all of my classmates discussed that none of them was able to attempt that one question. The corrected papers were distributed by professor the next day, he praised me for being the only student who was able to attempt the question correctly and wished me all the best for the final papers which were soon to be started.

I know it was a small paper and just one question but the happiness I felt when I got the appraisal was beyond limits. That one moment gave immense pleasure to me. The belief my professor always had on me encouraged me every time to do better.

In real life too same thing happens. When we come across problems and are looking for seeking their answers, it may seem that we may not find any solution but if you will think deeply with your mind and soul in peace you will surely get the correct answer.

When there is a problem, there will always be a solution. It just depends how and when the hunt for clarity of problem will be over.
